The Dolphins are racing to put re-signing packages in front of both Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and Kulikefu Finefeuiaki before each can speak to other NRL teams in free agency.
Both of the Dolphins superstars could speak to rivals from Sunday, November 1, which is Redcliffe’s bosses want to avoid if possible.

To that end, the Dolphins have started contract talks with both. Both “The Hammer” and Finefeuiaki are considered integral parts of the team’s roster by Kristian Woolf and the retention team – they have been deemed high priority and will be in conversations in coming weeks.
Its understood both are keen to sign new deals, so money will likely be the biggest sticking points. Tabuai-Fidow is already earning close to $950,000 a season right now, while Finefeuiaki makes $625K a year.
Finefeuiaki is now a State of Origin representative, while Tabuai-Fidow has been a mainstay on the representative level for some years.
“My preference would be to stay here,” Tabuai-Fidow told the Herald this week. “But, I’m not too worried… I’m just trying to get through each week, be with the boys and make this season a special one.”
How much the Dolphins can offer either remains to be seen, considering the club also has to sort out new deals with other stars like Jack Bostock, Selwyn Cobbo, Herbie Farnworth, Tom Flegler, and Connelly Lemuelu before the end of 2027 as well. Some will likely leave, its understood.

Of that list, Farnworth and Bostock seem the most likely, with some reports already putting the former in the Roosters’ sights for a big-money move.
The Dragons are also keeping an eye on Bostock’s potential free agency.
