Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Warwick Farm 15/4
April 16, 2026
The replays and sectionals have been reviewed from Wednesday’s Warwick Farm meeting. Our analyst has black booked a pair of runners out of what shapes as a strong form race.
Golden Straand
The Smith entire still does a lot wrong in his races but continues to get it done on raw ability. He settled in the off midfield position, 3-wide with cover and was forced 5-wide on the turn wanting to lay in. He was still able to produce a strong finish to claim a 1.4L win recording a slick 33.34s final 600m. I would love to see him receive the ultimate gear change (gelding) to help him iron out a few bad habits but for now he looks ready to step up to Saturday grade.

Crepe Myrtle
The Pride/Godolphin mare was a solid 1.5L 3rd behind Golden Straand. She overcame the awkward gate to land in the 1-1 and was strong all the way to the line in what should be a decent form race. A fillies and mares BM78 race in Saturday company would be a great target.
