Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Rosehill 25/2

The replays and sectionals have been reviewed from Wednesday’s Rosehill meeting. We’ve black booked a Waller runner up that was gallant after a horrid run.

Soverato

The Waller filly was ridden upside down from her usual pattern when hunted out of the gates from the inside draw in a tactic aimed at inconveniencing her on-speed rivals drawn further out. After being made to work the first 500m, she copped a check and lost some ground at the 1000m. I was impressed with how she picked up from there looking the winner at the top of the straight. She looked to be going great hitting the lead at the 300m only to see Aisle Two get up the inside of her and go on for a 0.7L victory. There was a 2.9L gap back to 3rd. It was a quality field of fillies with many of them eyeing the Kembla Grange Classic next start so I expect the form to hold up.
