The replays and sectionals have been reviewed from Sunday’s G2 Ingham meeting at Randwick. Our analyst has black booked a Widdup mare in red hot form and a Baker 4yo that went down in a photo after enduring a tough 3-wide run.
Hyperbolic
The Widdup mare is in great form, recording her 2nd consecutive win for the prep. She settled 2 pairs back and always looked the winner hitting the front at the 100m and holding off a couple of fast finishers from the rear to score a 0.7L win. She looks capable of stringing together more wins working her way through the grades.

The newly acquired Darby/Baker 4yo has been great recording a pair of unlucky 2nds this prep. He settled off midfield and was 3-wide without cover the trip. He looked nothing but the winner looming up at the 200m before the tough run told the final 50m going down in a photo finish. It’s hard to see him not winning without a more economical run. He was costly to punters when he was with Godolphin and some may doubt his desire considering he quickly went past and put a length on winner Axius at the 300m. He should be worth sticking with in similar company 3rd up from a better gate.
