Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Canterbury 22/4
April 22, 2026
The replays and sectionals have been reviewed from Wednesday’s Canterbury meeting. Our analyst has black booked a trio of runners that have the winners circle written all over them for the future.
Yattazou
The Waller filly jumped with her head in the air which resulted in J Mac grabbing a hold and taking her straight back to the rear. Her job was always going to be tough coming from the tail on the tight Canterbury straight but the way she ripped through the line to finish 0.2L 2nd to Events suggests she is one to be following in the future. She will be better for that experience 1st up and should be able to stretch it out further if she can learn to settle out of the gates.Â

Man of Worth
The Irish import was arguably the most impressive winner on the card kicking off his 2nd Aus prep. He was made to work out of the gates to settle outside race leader Mafia. He cruised up at the top of the straight and never looked anything but the winner going away for a 1.4L victory. He looks in for a big prep and a Saturday win doesn’t look out of his grasp.
Rajwa
The Freedman filly found herself at the rear of the small field on turning before being held up at a crucial stage. By the time she got to the outside at the 200m the race was over but she closed off strongly to finish 0.3L 2nd. I expect the form around Supermassive and Blitzgal to hold up strong from that race making her one to be with in the future if she lands in midweek company.
