They don’t debut much more impressively than what we saw from the Richard and Will Freedman 3yo today. The Autumn Sun gelding was slow out of the gates before settling at the rear and was still locked away last on the rail on turning. Schofield had a lap of horse underneath him and barged his way into the clear at the 300m before reeling them in and storming away for a big 2.6L win. There were two factors worth noting in the win; it was incredible that such an inexperienced horse could show such a desire to win engaging in contact when pocketed and still picking himself up to make a huge run and the fact he ran 0.78s quicker than the much more experienced Signor Tortoni in BM72 company later in the day. One to follow.

Pride stated after the race that she will likely spell now before targeting some Saturday races over the winter where she will appreciate some wet tracks.Â
