Best Of The Best: Our Wednesday Specials – Canterbury 27/10
October 26, 2021
Midweek Sydney racing returns to Canterbury and I’ve picked out a UK import from the Waller yard that has potential to improve after a key gear change and a front running stayer that looks well suited to the tight Canterbury track.

Canterbury Race 1 – Agrimony
- Trainer: C Waller
- Jockey: J Collett
- Barrier: 3
Agrimony impressed me with his debut Australian run at Rosehill 3 weeks ago when he was parked midfield, cruised to the lead soon after turning for home before a lack of race fitness caused him to fade to 5th. It’s interesting to see that Waller has applied a tongue tie and after closely watching the replay you can see his tongue get over the bit at the 300m mark which could explain the disappointing final furlong. I love the extra week off he’s had between runs which would allow the master trainer to apply his trade.

Canterbury Race 5 – Narrated
- Trainer: C Maher & D Eustace
- Jockey: R King
- Barrier: 8
Narrated is a tough on-speed stayer that finished 2nd last start at this grade and distance behind the smart Mightybeel, who has franked the form by winning another race in this grade last week. He looks perfectly suited to the short straight of Canterbury with Rachel King retaining the ride and should be tough to run down.
Tip: 2 Units Win Narrated @$4.6 with TopSport
