Caufield Race 6 –  Masked Crusader

This talented sprinter has a price to match his form from last autumn but looks too good to pass up on here. He announced himself as one of the countries emerging sprinters last preparation winning the G1 William Reid before finishing 2nd behind Nature Strip in the G1 TJ Smith.

He looks to have returned in similar if not better form on the back of a recent trial win at Rosehill where he settled last and came down the outside fence to blow a field away that included Shaquero and Villami.

Tip: 3 Units Win Masked Crusader @$1.8 With TopSport

Kembla Race 6 – Paulele

Paulele was dominant taking out the Rosebud over this distance a fortnight ago. He’s been smashed in early markets. Expect him to settled midfield and show an explosive sprint up the straight like he did in his previous win.

Stay Inside and Remarque appear to be the two main dangers. Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside looks to be going well after two impressive trial performances and should get a wet surface that will suit. Paulele’s race fitness may be an issue for the champion 2yo in the concluding stages.

Remarque is talented but is becoming costly for punters. He again found trouble in the Rosebud where jockey Tommy Berry had nowhere to go from the 400-200m and when he finally got out he finished with the quickest furlong despite having to pick himself up. He will require luck again from barrier 2 and Berry has jumped off to retain his ride on Stay Inside which isn’t a great sign but it wouldn’t surprise to see him run a big race.

Tip: 2 Units Win Paulele @$2.8 With TopSport

Kembla Race 7 – Harpo Marx

There’s a lot to like about this consistent stayer stepping up in grade here. He is honest in all conditions, never runs a bad race and will drop a whopping 9.5kg coming up to G3 company after racing so consistently in benchmarks. Spirit Ridge and Dashing Willoughby are proven in this grade but the Bjorn Baker gelding has race fitness on his side which will be huge over 2000m here. Those horses will have plenty of improvement to come on the path the the Metropolitan.

Tip: 2 Units Win Harpo Marx @$6.5 With TopSport
