Profondo’s brilliant win in the G1 Spring Champion Stakes was enough for subscribers to turn a small profit last week. We now turn our attention to Everest day. There are still a few variables to consider when analysing the form, none more so than whether we will get a soft or a heavy track which may have a big impact on numerous runners throughout the day. Click below to see our best 3 bets of the day at Randwick.

Randwick Race 6 –  Big Parade

It’s hard not to be impressed by this tough on-pace runner from the Newnham yard and after a near flawless campaign so far, he gets conditions that suit here. He has an outstanding record on wet tracks which reads 6:4-1-1. 1200m is his best distance and he should be able to roll across Prime Candidate and dictate terms as he loves to do.

He was dominant winning a BM88 by 3.3L 1st up before being tested over 1300m, where despite not running the trip was still tough enough to be 1.5L away in 3rd. He was freshened after that effort and returned with a narrow victory where he showed he could camp off a speed in a BM94 at this track and distance. Will be very hard to run down.

Tip: 2 Units Win Big Parade @$3.7  With TopSport

Randwick Race 7 – Classique Legend

Whilst connections are taking a risk bringing him into the Everest 1st up, you only have to go back to the running of this race last year where he raced back in the field without cover and produced a dominant finish up the Randwick straight to blow a similar field away by 2.5L.

When barriers were released 5 looked perfect but after constructing a speed map there looks to be the possibility that he could be 3 wide without cover again. All 4 horses drawn inside him tend to have a similar race pattern of getting back just worse than midfield. Happy to leave it in the very competent hands of Kerrin McEvoy.

Conditions wise, it’s not all clear sailing for the grey. Trainer Les Bridge has publicly declared he doesn’t want a heavy track so a soft 6 would be ideal. The track is currently rated a heavy 8 without a lot more rain predicted but plenty of wind that should help dry it out. If it stays a heavy I’ll be looking elsewhere to maybe a Gytrash.

If he gets early cover and a soft 6-7 he may just remind everyone how good he is.

Tip: 2 Units Win Classique Legend @$5 With TopSport

Randwick Race 9 – Purrfect Deal

Purrfect Deal may be slipping under the radar in the G2 St Ledger Stakes. He comes from the very astute Costa yard and has the perfect record of 2 from 2 on soft tracks. Three starts back he won the Listed Grafton Cup and from there I believe connections have targeted this race. He went for a let-up before returning for two races at Queensland where he carried huge weight but was still amongst the place getters.

The 2600m looks ideal and he’s not going to know himself with only 53.5kg on his back. A lot of the more fancied runners are a huge query on wet surfaces. This guy is going to camp just behind the speed and will relish the going.

Tip: 1 Unit Win Purrfect Deal @$9.5 With TopSport
