GRAHAME Begg can finish off a frustrating spring in style by taking out the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) with his talented and lightly raced mare Magic Time.
Begg lost his big staying guns Nonconformist and Lunar Flare to injuries before they could participate in the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups respectively.

Magic Time gave a ray of light for him when she won the Group 3 Nivison Stakes at Rosehill but then she had little luck at her last start when she finished third behind Espiona in The Invitation.
Begg said a start in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes for Magic Time was too good to pass up as she would only carry 53.5 kilos.

He said the event wasn’t on his radar early but the more he looked at that weight the more he thought it was a great option for her.
