Tom Trbojevic is a free agent from 2028 onward, but he has made it clear he only wants to play for the Manly Sea Eagles, and will happily leave the ball in the club’s court regarding his re-signing.
“That’s what I see happening,” he said while in the semifinals camp with Australia for the 2026 Rugby League World Cup. “I’ve still got next year there, and then we’ll see.”

Manly are currently considering which players they want to keep in a rebuild under Keiran Foran, and have been shopping a lot of players to rival teams recently.
Luckily for “Turbo,” he is considered one of the ‘Untouchables’ alongside brothers Jake and Ben, Tonga duo Tolutau Koula and Haumole Olakau’atu, and young gun Joey Walsh, who many see as the future of the club.
What this means for a Trbojevic extension remains to be seen, but there’s every chance the injury-prone fullback takes a pay-cut that means the club can stomach his availability. He’s been with the first team since 2015, averaging around 16 games through each year to manage 184 NRL appearances.
Most of the other clubs in the competition would at least take a chance on Trbojevic should he hit the open market, though maybe not at fullback as he’d prefer.
Either way, there’s going to be a lot of speculation for the Kangaroos star.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it [November 1 free agency],” Turbo admitted.
