Australian Squad For Upcoming Sri Lankan Series Announced – A Couple Of Surprise Inclusions
January 9, 2019
Australia have announced their 13 man squad to face Sri Lanka in a two Test series at Brisbane and Canberra later this month.
In a welcome relief for fans, selectors have paid respect to recent Sheffield Shield form by calling up the consistent Joe Burns and 20 year old Victorian batsman Will Pucovski. Queensland opener Matt Renshaw has also been called upon.
Peter Handscomb has been left to work on his failing technique whilst both Shaun and Mitch Marsh have been left out.
As expected the Aaron Finch experiment at Test level has been thrown away.
Full squad: Tim Paine (c), Josh Hazlewood (vc), Joe Burns, Pat Cummins, Marcus Harris, Travis Head, Usman Khaawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Will Pucovski, Matt Renshaw, Mitchell Starc, Peter Siddle
