Ascot Selections & Staking Plan: Wednesday 27th October

4 years ago - Sportingbase Ascot Selections & Staking Plan: Wednesday 27th October Image
Been a bit wet and wild in Perth since Saturday after one of the better days on-course I’ve been to. Looking at a soft 6 track that once again, could play any which way given the lack of a track manager at Ascot currently (a problem that is currently being fast-forward). Keen to get involved in one race on the card.

Race 1 – 1:34PM SEACORP HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

2. Maheleo – 4. Success Play – 3. Prince Of Guelph – 1. Twice Lucky

Race 2 – 2:14PM TABTOUCH BETTER YOUR BET MAIDEN (1500 METRES)

5. Market Stryke – 11. Flower In The Wind – 4. Kolchino – 10. False Evidence

Race 3 – 2:54PM WESTERN RACEPIX HANDICAP (1500 METRES)

3. Passion Prince – 7. All On Black – 4. Zadar Rock – 2. Kentucky Blue

Race 4 – 3:30PM MORLEY GROWERS MARKET HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

4. My Blueboy – 1. Trevern – 6. Tovarich – 9. Advocator

Race 5 – 4:10PM AMELIA PARK LODGE HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

7. Safety Fuse – 1. Cross Statement – 8. Sparkling Blue – 11. Rebelzone

Safety Fuse

I thought Safety Fuse run last start in a quality CL3 was massive. Sat 3 wide no cover up on-top of a really hot speed and thought she was terrific the way she absorbed that pressure and hit the line behind Treasured Star (favourite for the G1 Kingston Town and WA Guineas) and Ghost Who Walks who has since run very well at Northam. Back into a CL1, still only gets in with the 53kgs after the claim for Kesh who should be able to smother her up here just in behind the speed. Trialled nicely on a genuine soft so the wet track shouldn’t be to her detriment and think she will go mighty close here, keen.

2 Units WIN

Cross Statement

Think this race sets up really nicely for Cross Statement and don’t want to be losing on him. Thought the fresh run was really good, did some work early, rolled along at a genuine tempo and was just gunned down in the shadow by a smart one when just probably lacking a bit of condition. Race under the belt, should cross them easily from 11 even though drawn out wide to find the fence, with that improvement out of the 1st up run looks hard to run down.

1 Unit WIN

Race 6 – 4:45PM GLENROY CHAFF HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

7. Zero Demerits – 2. Ginger Flyer – 10. Fashion Queen – 5. Standout Rose

Race 7 – 5:20PM HEINEKEN 3 HANDICAP (1800 METRES)

1. Indominus – 2. Red Hot Hope – 6. Jadavi – 7. Chokslam

Staking Plan

Race 5 Safety Fuse 2 Units WIN/Cross Statement 1 Unit WIN

3 Units Staked.
