AFL Team Lists: Carlton vs Brisbane – The Biggest Betting Impacts From Team Lists

he confirmed team lists are in for Carlton vs Brisbane, with both clubs making important changes ahead of Saturday night’s blockbuster at Marvel Stadium. Carlton regains a Coleman Medallist in Harry McKay, while Brisbane welcomes back multiple premiership players but has elected to manage one of its biggest stars.

With the finals race heating up, here are the biggest selection changes that could influence the betting markets.

Biggest Ins – Carlton

Harry McKay

McKay’s return is comfortably Carlton’s biggest inclusion. The key forward immediately strengthens the Blues’ attack, providing another genuine aerial target alongside Charlie Curnow and forcing Brisbane’s defence to defend two elite key forwards.

From a betting perspective, McKay’s inclusion improves Carlton’s inside-50 scoring potential and creates greater value in the Blues’ anytime goalscorer markets.

Biggest Outs – Carlton

Nic Newman

Newman misses with a hamstring injury, removing one of Carlton’s most reliable rebounding defenders. His absence places greater responsibility on Adam Saad and Blake Acres to generate drive from the back half against Brisbane’s dangerous forward pressure.

Biggest Ins – Brisbane

Oscar Allen

Allen’s return gives Brisbane another dangerous marking target alongside Logan Morris and Charlie Cameron. His ability to play both deep forward and higher up the ground provides Chris Fagan with another avenue to goal and should make Brisbane even more difficult to defend.

Keidean Coleman

Coleman’s return is arguably just as important. One of the competition’s best users by foot, he significantly improves Brisbane’s ball movement from half-back and should help launch more attacking chains through the corridor.

Bruce Reville

Reville adds versatility and forward pressure to Brisbane’s line-up, giving the Lions another player capable of rotating through multiple roles if required.

Biggest Outs – Brisbane

Dayne Zorko

Managing Zorko is the biggest selection decision for Brisbane. The veteran has been one of the Lions’ most influential players this season, and his absence removes elite ball use and rebound from defence. Expect more responsibility to fall on Coleman, Jaspa Fletcher and Will Ashcroft to generate attacking ball movement.

Ty Gallop

Gallop’s suspension slightly reduces Brisbane’s key-position depth, although the return of Oscar Allen comfortably offsets that loss.

Early Betting Verdict

The biggest takeaway from the confirmed team lists is that Carlton regains Harry McKay, while Brisbane replaces the managed Dayne Zorko with the returning Keidean Coleman and Oscar Allen. Although Zorko is a significant out, Brisbane’s returning talent largely offsets his absence, while Carlton’s forward line becomes considerably more dangerous with McKay back alongside Charlie Curnow.

From a betting perspective, Harry McKay anytime goalscorer becomes one of the standout player markets, while Brisbane’s midfield remains well placed through Lachie Neale, Josh Dunkley and Will Ashcroft. The Lions’ ball movement should remain strong despite Zorko’s absence, while Carlton’s improved forward structure makes both teams’ key forwards attractive options in the goalscorer markets.
