SEMI FINAL COLLINGWOOD v FREMANTLE – MCG 7.25pm SATURDAY
It took a long time for Fremantle to switch on against the Bulldogs in its elimination final but when they finally did after being 41 points down during the second quarter kicking 10 of the last 11 goals to win by 13 points on their home deck.
Meanwhile, the Magpies were involved in an epic Qualifying final against the Cats and came up a goal short. That surely looks the better form line going into this match. Since Round 10 the Magpies have only lost to the two preliminary finalists, Sydney and Geelong. When they last played Fremantle they defeated them by 36 points on their home deck.
The Magpie army will be out in force and they should get the opportunity to remain in the hunt for the flag. Their younger players will be better off having played in a final while the old heads such as Scott Pendlebury and Steele Sidebottom will again steer the ship.
