A Class Above: Which Horse Caught Our Eye Last Week? 25/2

This week’s selection is an extremely well-bred filly that we think will work through the grades and potentially become something special.

REACHING – (Deep Impact x Alinghi)
  • Trainer – Kim Waugh
  • Randwick Kensington – 19th February
  • Race 4 – 1400m

What a return by the Deep Impact Filly going straight to the 1400m on the Kensington track running right through the line late, recorded impressive speed ratings over the final 600m and really motored the final 200m to just miss.

She will take plenty of improvement from that run and will be very hard to beat over 1600m second up.

She is nominated for the Randwick Guineas on March 7th but would suggest she goes to another midweek meeting and progress straight to Listed and Group races this preparation and potentially target the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas over 1600m.

Reaching is a $51 chance in the Randwick Guineas.
