Lindermann and Nash Rawiller led throughout to win the Group 2 Asahi Super Dry Craven Plate (1800m) at Randwick for the third year in a row, beating Tom Kitten by a length with Eliyass third. Here’s what the jockeys said.
It is always important to hear what the jockeys say after the race, as you can forgive a horse’s bad run or even find a winner next start, so head to the post-race comments below.
PANOVA (Tommy Berry) – 8th
Just not sure how well she is going but very hard to get a guide with that sort of race shape.
KOVALICA (Jason Collett) – 7th
He is going well. Had no options but to stay in around the turn into the straight. Didn’t have a lot of luck.
PORTLAND (Tyler Schiller) – 6th
Honest run. It’s probably that touch above his grade. He has handled himself well. I think he backs up next week in a better race for him.

VIVY AIR (Regan Bayliss) – 5th
She ran super. Doesn’t have the tactical speed to hold a spot early and Lindermann got away with it.
PLYMOUTH (Zac Lloyd) – 4th
Messy race but he’s going really well. Primed for the Five Diamonds.

ELIYASS (Tim Clark) – 3rd
He was gallant as always.
TOM KITTEN (Kerrin McEvoy) – 2nd
He ran fantastic. Just wanted a bit of a closer spot and couldn’t get it. He has run well considering.
LINDERMANN (Nash Rawiller) – 1st
He was unreal wasn’t he. Credit to the team. I think they had him fitter again than last time. But at the same time, he bounced back and was real zesty before the race.
He showed that leading the gates. He left like an Oakleigh Plater and had them crossed in 7m. To some degree at the half mile, if he feels them pop out to have a shot at him, he grabs the bridle and wants to go. It’s ‘Woah big boy – a long way to be going from here.’ He went another furlong there in a nice comfort zone and really quickened terrifically like he has been doing.
I guess today was a drop back in grade but they are still horses that can win G1s on their day in it. I hope it’s not quite his peak performance, hope he’s got another one in him on Champions Day in Melbourne.
