Week 12 is when the NFL season really begins. The real contenders will emerge and the pretenders will fall away. There has already been four games this week, but with a full slate there are still lots of games left on the card.

Carolina Panthers @ Tennessee Titans

I have not been impressed in any way with how Carolina has handled the season. They looked to be opening things up for Bryce Young but the signs he had started to show that he was improving have disappeared and it has lead to coaching changes and hopefully a change in approach. I am actually picking them this week to come out of this with an upset win. I just do not believe that Will Levis is, or ever will be a legitimate NFL quarterback, and up against a sneakily decent defence, I think he could struggle. I am not expecting lots of points here, and Carolina can steal a close one.

New England Patriots @ New York Giants

A game that could actually have a lot of importance when it comes to who is picking at the top of the 2024 draft. The loser of this game will be the favourite for the 2nd pick. The Patriots just look like a team that is directionless. There is still speculation about Bill Belichick and his future despite an offseason extension, and heading into MetLife I think we could see yet another meltdown from Mac Jones. Saquon Barkley will be the key for New York, but we have seen this Patriots defence give up some yardage to running backs, and Barkley can drag his team to a win.

Cleveland Browns @ Denver Broncos

After an awful start, the Broncos have had a bit of a resurgence, but they have not faced a defence like the Browns in that run, and it could be bad news for them today. The Browns may not produce lots of points themselves, but the defence can win another game for them here.

Baltimore Ravens @ Los Angeles Chargers

When a head coach looks so certain to be fired in a few weeks, it is hard not to back against them, particularly when a strong team like the Ravens comes to town. The Chargers yet again have been disappointing this season and who knows, if things get out of hand here, it could be the last game Brandon Staley coaches for the Chargers.
