2022 NFL Week 5 Preview: Our Expert Tips & Staking Plan

Detroit Lions @ New England Patriots

The Patriots will officially be without Mac Jones, meaning it is Zappe at quarterback. He looked capable last week, but he is a long way from starter quality. Where the Patriots will be able to have some success is on the ground though, and up against the highest scoring offence in the league, the over is very appealing.

Los Angeles Chargers @ Cleveland Browns

This one is all about matchup for me. The Chargers just have not been able to stop the run at all. No matter what they do, they get run all over. And going up against the Browns who are one of the best rushing attacks in the league with Chubb and Hunt is going to be tough for them. I do like the total here as well.

Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings

This Vikings team is so good at home, and they are just a class above the Bears. Last week in London they should have won way more comfortably than they did. They were the far better team but just did not execute when it mattered. They can improve on that here and get the big win. The line in the American market is currently 1.5 worse however, so it is just a no bet for our American readers unless you can get the 7.5 point line.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Arizona Cardinals

The Eagles are one of the real public darlings. The casual fans will be all over this line against a Cardinals team that just have not looked great this year. But the Cardinals are improving and under Kliff Kingsbury they are a very impressive 20-9 against the spread as underdogs. I always like these spots where public opinion on one team that is hugely popular against another that the general opinion is down on.
