2022 NFL Week 17 Preview: Our Expert Tips & Staking Plan

The final week of the regular season! It can throw up some tough spots with teams resting players and there will be games that we perhaps do not bet if other results go certain ways earlier in the day, but I will lay those out in the individual previews

Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers

This just feels like a good matchup for the Browns. Neither team has anything to play for, but the Browns, and DeShaun Watson in particular, do have something to prove. They can finish the season strongly and head into the offseason on a positive note.

Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts

At this stage of the season there are teams that are incentivised to lose. The Texans are one of them with the number one pick in the draft locked up with a loss. The Colts have been a mess but at home, in Jeff Saturday’s last game as interim coach, they should be able to overcome a team that ultimately does not want to win.

New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins

This is a battle of third string quarterbacks, and in that sort of battle I will always lean towards the better defence and that is undoubtedly the Jets. They can terrorise Skylar Thompson all game long here. Joe Flacco is not great, but he can manage the Jets to a win here

Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Commanders

The Cowboys can still get the first seed, and playing at the same time as the Eagles mean they will need to go all out to win. Washington are starting Sam Howell for the first time. He is a QB I am just not high on and the Cowboys defence could cause him big issues.

The Cardinals are really shutting things down and the 49ers still have the 1 seed to play for. This should be a destruction and the 49ers are the sort of team that can pour it on, even if they run out their second string players;
