2021 NFL Week 9 Preview: Our Expert Tips & Staking Plan

A perfect Thursday night sets us up for a big week in week 9 as we hit the halfway point of the season.

I will likely be adding some more picks before the games so make sure to check back.

Season to date
Premium picks:
  • Profit/Loss: +7.64 units
  • ROI: 7%
  • Strike rate: 49%
Overall:
  • Profit/Loss: +3.18 units
  • ROI: 2%
  • Strike rate: 45%

Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints

The Saints lost Jameis Winston for the season but with how he is being used – a lot safer and more of a game manager – I am not sure Trevor Siemian is a big downgrade. The Falcons just don’t have it right now and no Calvin Ridley is a huge blow to this offence. I do however think the total has moved way too far with the news of Winston/Siemian and will be taking the over on a relatively low number.

  • 1 unit Falcons/Saints over 41.5 1.91 with TopSport

Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals suffered a really bad loss last week but they played ok. Silly mistakes and refereeing cost them on the back of what was a huge win over the Ravens. So often we see teams let down after those sort of results that I can forgive it. They get the Browns coming to town who have their own turmoil. Odell Beckham Jr will be released shortly and Baker Mayfield is struggling with his shoulder injury. The Bengals defence has been much better than expected and can keep Cleveland at bay.

  • 2 units Bengals -2.5 1.94 with TopSport

Denver Broncos @ Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys are now 7-0 against the spread and we have been with them all the way and we are not going to stop now. The Broncos look like a team ready to collapse and this could be the final nudge. Teddy Bridgewater just can’t keep up in any sort of shootout and the Cowboys offence is too overpowered for any defence right now.

  • 1 unit Cowboys -10 2.0 with TopSport

Las Vegas Raiders @ New York Giants

The Raiders have gone through yet another tumultuous week and while we do not need to get into that, it is terrible preparation for a cross country trip. The Giants are not a great team but they have talent and can beat a team like the Raiders who while they are good, are not great themselves. Take the Giants in an upset win at home.

  • 2 units Giants +3 1.98 with TopSport
  • 1 unit Giants moneyline 2.43 with TopSport

Los Angles Chargers @ Philadelphia Eagles

The Chargers just continue to disappoint. They run the ball far too much when they need to turn the ball over to Justin Herbert and put the game in his hands. They could learn their lesson here though against an Eagles team that does not match up very well. Austin Ekeler should be a menace out of the backfield and really terrorise the Eagles linebackers.

  • 2 units Chargers -1 1.88 with TopSport
  • 1 unit Ekeler any time touchdown 1.67 with TopSport
