High School Years

As a freshman, Bagley attended Corona del Sol High School in Tempe, Arizona, before moving to Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix, Arizona as a sophomore. MB3 played with #1 draft pick Deandre Ayton until he transferred to Sierra Canyon School in California during 2016. Upon arriving in California, he was forced to sit out the first year due to being ruled ineligible due to a local school sporting rule. Once he finally got on court he averaged 24.9 points per game and 10.1 rebounds per game.

Bagley was rated a five-star recruit during his high school years and was ranked as top player in the 2018 class.

College Years

Bagley’s College career is only brief due to the reclassification he went through during his High School years. He joined Duke in 2017 and debuted in November scoring 25 points and claiming 11 rebounds in a win over Elon University.

At the end of the season he was named ACC’s Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year, as well as being named a member of the All-ACC first team. Bagley joined Deandre Ayton and Trae Young as the most freshmen players to be named in the All-American First-Team in a season.

After Duke’s loss in the 2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, he announced that he would be nominating for the NBA draft and forgo his remaining three seasons as a college basketballer.

NBA Career

MB3 was announced as the second overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft and was selected by the Sacramento Kings. He made his NBA debut on October 17 against the Utah Jazz, a game they lost 123-117.  That evening he scored 6 points and 5 rebounds with only 12 minutes of game time. Two days later, he recorded 19 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks in a huge loss against the New Orleans Pelicans. He pulled off an amazing spin move on potential MVP Anthony Davis in the first quarter.

Good luck Marvin Bagley, you are part of the new generation of NBA basketballers.
