In 2011-2014 you played college football for Oregon State and in that time had an impressive 1,843 rushing yards, 22 rushing TD’s, 87 receptions, 664 receiving yards and 3 receiving TD’s. Did that give you the confidence to work towards an NFL contract?

Yeah, it did but I knew I wanted to play in the NFL ever since I was a kid and I was determined to do it so I think my determination gave me confidence.

In 2015, after being undrafted did that push you to work harder to get into the NFL?

Once again I was determined from a young age. It didn't matter what route I took to play in the NFL I was going to do it.

In May 2015 you were signed by the Atlanta Falcons, do you remember the moment you got the call? How were the excitement levels?

I was actually in Las Vegas because I wanted to take my mind off the draft. I got a call from the Tennessee Titans saying they wanted to invite me to camp and sign me as UDFA (undrafted free agency) and while I was on the phone with them the Atlanta Falcons called telling me something similar. I thought the Falcons were a better fit for my style of running so I signed with them. I was excited about the opportunity but also wanted to prove people wrong for not drafting me.

You showed why you were a good signing in your rookie year with 29 carries, 95 rushing yards, 3.2 Ave rushing yards, 1 TD, 9 receptions and 73 receiving yards. What was the major difference between playing college football and playing in the NFL?

I would say the biggest differences are the knowledge of the players and having that knowledge makes the speed of the game faster.

In 2016 you were a part of the Atlanta Falcons team that went on to make the super bowl, was there something special about that team where you knew at the start of the season you would have a great season?

I knew we had good players but our bond was stronger than the year before and we had good momentum all year.

After watching the video of you mic’d up it was clear to see you're a great team motivator and a bit of a jokester, is it important to you to keep the team motivated and also enjoying what they're doing?

At the end of the day, it’s a game and I think it’s important to respect the game and have a good time doing it.

You're the younger brother of T.J. Ward who was a safety for the Broncos, how much of an influence did he have on your career? Did he show you how hard you had to work to make it in the NFL?

He’s a great influence in my life. I bounce questions off him all of the time. I was blessed to be able to see someone go through some of the things I had to go through early in a career

T.J. was lucky enough to win a super bowl ring with the Broncos, does he like that he has the bragging rights for now?

No, we don't really brag within our family.

Finally, you've created a clothing company (www.just2niceclothing) that aims to inspire people to live life confidently, is that something you've always wanted to do?

Not really. I’ve always been into fashion and when I met my boy (Malcolm Marable) in college he had a vision for it. It inspired me to help him start it. Go to our homepage to watch Terron Ward Mic'd up.
