The Plunge’s Saturday Review: Horses You Must Follow From Rosehill 3/3
April 6, 2021
A massive day at Rosehill on Saturday for Plunge subscribers with Signore Fox getting home at double figure odds! Click below to see my two horses to follow from the Tancred Stakes meeting.
The Plunge’s Service Results:
- +44.2 units of profit since December
- 41 bets: 13 wins /9 placings
- Race 4
- Distance 1500m
- Class: G2 Emancipation Stake fillies and mares set weights
This 4yo mare is racing well and is just waiting for the right conditions before she wins a race this preparation.
With the Good 4 surface that was clearly favouring on-pace runners on the fence, the Widdup mare was understandably easy in the market.
After drawing the outside gate, she settled 9 lengths off the leader in last. McEvoy tried his best to avoid coming down the outside by weaving through runners but still found himself starting a run down the worst part of the track where Icebath unleashed a great run to finish 1.3L away in 4th.
When To Bet
The G1 Coolmore Legacy at Randwick will no doubt be the target from here. It will be a step up in class but with a decent barrier and a wet track, I will be happy to invest in her.
- Race: 5
- Distance: 1200m
- Class: G3 Star Kingdom Stakes
I tipped Signore Fox at $10 through this service on Friday night and I see no reason to be getting off next start after the Snowden trained sprinter was a rare example of a horse winning well away from the fence on Saturday.
McDonald settled him midfield off a hot pace and was forced to shove his way out of a pocket, which is something I love to see. By the time he got out he was on a part of the track that was clearly a disadvantage. Despite this he was good enough to charge home to win by a comfortable 1.3L
When To Bet
He looks to be flying after a throat operation at the end of last preparation. The Snowden’s may wish to wait 3 weeks for the G1 All Aged Stakes.
